9th Annual GCC Convention held; Dr. Dahir talks about Transformed Counselors

The Guidance Counselors Circle Inc. in partnership with APSA and APECA, successfully held its 9th Annual Convention last October 12-14, 2009 at the CSB Hotel International Conference Center. Dr. Carol Dahir, an associate professor and coordinator of the School Counselor Education at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) keynoted the said convention. In her keynote address, Dr. Dahir posed the challenge to the counselors in transforming the counseling profession through leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and accountability.

Dr. Rosemarie Salazar- Clemeña, the GCC president presented the National Standards for Guidance and Counseling. On the 3rd day, the GCC partnered with the Association of Psychological and Educational Counsellors of Asia (APECA) .Concurrent workshops on Systems Interview in Helping Clients make Decisions, Managing Stress for Happiness and Success, Counseling HIV/ AIDS Patients, How I Seek to Openly Reach You, Music Therapy, Happiness Research, and Brain Gym were conducted by International speakers.
