Making Standards Work & UBD Seminars

The Asian Pyschological Services & Assessment (APSA) will be holding a one day seminar‑workshop on Making Standards Work and Effective Use and Application of Understanding by Design for Quality Education on July 23, 2010 at the City De Luxe Restaurant, Tapuac District, Dagupan City.

Realizing the needs of most schools for quality and up to date curriculum and instruction, APSA is inviting school heads, principals ,and subject area heads/teachers to attend this one-day seminar‑workshop.

Making Standards Work will provide rationale and step by step instructions for creating classroom assessments that accurately measure what the students should know and be able to do.

This seminar‑workshop will provide a comprehensive understanding and application of UBD for effecting curricular development and assessment.

It aims to provide a framework for teachers to design instruction that promotes understanding and student engagement. This will also help teachers look at instructional design from a results orientation.
